I'm a big picture ecologist: in terms of my research scope and impact.

While I've explored microbiology and genetics, what excites me most is the nature that I can see around me. I want to understand the connections: how species interact, how ecosystems respond to climate change, and how human activity affects the Earth's wellbeing.

I'm also passionate about connecting science with communities. I believe that the most important research goes beyond academic journals. My lofty goal is to do research that drives change to protect people and the environment.
